Is there an excess in A list idols?

Article: A list idols skyrocket in price... 'creating more lower income class'

Source: Starin via Nate

Article where it divides idol groups into income classes and shows that their division is almost a reflection of reality where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

The editorial states that 'A list' idol groups are the only ones growing more popular, leaving barely any room for B and C list groups to have their turn in the spotlight. While the price of A list idols skyrocket by the day (in CFs and how much they're paid per event), B and C list idols as well as indie/hip hop musicians remain stagnant and make barely 1/10 of what they make.

= Per Event =

SNSD, KARA $70~80k
INFINITE $60~70k
B2ST $50~60k

10cm $7k~10k
Other indie artists $5k~

Because event organizers have wasted all of their yearly funding on inviting A list idols to events, they use whatever funding they have left on inviting B, C list for the rest of the year. They do admit to getting more bang for the buck from B, C, lists because "indie musicians tend to enjoy performing on stage regardless of the money so they will usually perform for longer periods whereas idols limit themselves to 3-4 songs for their pay."

1. [+214, -11] The problem is that there are too many "A lists". The system is messed up because all you need is a drama or a digital song to become a hit and you're automatically considered A list.

2. [+168, -4] Aren't all of the companies basically praying that one of their groups become a hit? So they're all just pouring out idol groups one after the other hoping that one of them catches on. Anyone that knows a thing or two about the market would know that an excess obviously causes a drop in demand and price. They were obviously taking these risks into account when they decided to saturate the market like this, no?

3. [+255, -98] I don't think $5k is anything to joke about, even if you're a famous indie band. You sing 5 songs and get paid $5k... There can't be any job easier than that, really..
